Friends of QPA
We are delighted to announce the set up of Friends of QPA – all parents/carers and families are automatically members whilst your child attends our school.
The amazing staff at Queens Park deliver a wonderful education for our children using Government funding. Our aim is to work with the staff to enhance that education further by providing additional facilities and resources, events, activities and improving the school environment.
We have a constitution and we have a Chairman – Mike Barker (parent), Treasurer (Zara Khan – parent), Secretary (Ven Bolton – governor) and Minute Secretary (Fatima Gulam – staff). Our President is our Headteacher, Emma Bolton.
We want volunteers to join the Committee – ideally we would love to have a representative from each class so that we can work fairly across the school to ensure that every child benefits from our activities.
The Committee will meet once a term to help the officers and school staff to organise and deliver agreed activities, to make sure that we are managing our resources properly and working within our constitution.
All parents can help in other ways
- supporting and assisting staff at school events – trips, discos, movie nights, family picnics, etc
- working parties to improve the school environment eg playground, field, gardens.
We have already made a start – our Movie Night raised £350, Christmas Raffle £300
We have bought new basketball hoops for Chestnut Avenue site and benches for Early Years (these items were first on the School Council's list)
Our next events – providing refreshments for parents on Independent Learning Day – 14 February and a Book Sale on World Book Day – 5 March.
